My dearest sister,
It’s been a while since the last time I wrote other articles not concerning movies, and this time, I want to write something for you. I write this letter because I cannot talk about this directly to you. You have pulled yourself too far from my grasp and I cannot reach out to you, verbally nor physically. I’m not trying to be wiser than you, trust me, I’ll never be. I’m just the same girl you’ve known from nine years ago, and I still see you as one of my bestest friend, so that’s why I wrote this letter.
Dearest sister,
Things have been changing recently, and like any other change, it requires some adaptations. I never see the change as something new in my life. Change is the essence of life. Everything must change in order to survive in this crazy old world. I don’t know how you see our ground right now, but I highly expect you to see that we’re still standing on the same ground, holding on to the same vision, and sharing the same dream as we were nine years ago.
I still can see somehow this ground we stand requires a great change, otherwise it won’t survive.
Life is never meant to be fair, dearest sister, and I learned it the hardest way. I talk about how trashy I felt when I hit the rock bottom several years ago. I talk about how jealous I felt to you when I had to deal with a place far far away while you sit comfortably on your air-conditioned office, doing things you are best at, surrounding by our same-age colleagues. I talk about how unworthy I felt when I once again had to hit the rock bottom because of my stupid colleague who likes to kiss butt but doesn’t have the required competency to do his job. Life is never fair, dearest sister, but it will only make us stronger….
If we choose to be strong.
If we choose to think why the world doesn’t go the way we think it supposed to, life will tear us apart. If we choose to think why everyone worse than us keep getting the life they want, life will tear us apart. If we choose to keep thinking why the worst is happening to us and how unfair situation were, we already lost the battle.
Life will only give chance to those who struggling to survive with the scars and broken hearts every time they face challenges. It’s never about them, dearest sister, it’s all about us. We cannot control how life treats everyone, we can only control how we react to our own situation. We are the only solution to all of our problems. If we keep looking outside, we will never be satisfied because there are too many things we have to adopt in order to satisfy the people we don’t really need in our life. Tell me sister, when did the last time you have a good conversation with your inner self? We cannot make everyone happy. We can only make ourselves happy.
Dearest sister,
Don’t be jealous to what everybody else is having right now. We don’t know what important things had been sacrificed in their life. What we have right now is enough, and if we do things better every single day, we probably be lucky one day that we will meet a happy ending.
I’m probably blabbering too much right now. Trust me dear sister, the only important thing right now is our own happiness. No wealth, no shiny diamond or gold that can be compared to our happiness.
And I will be forever praying for your happiness.
With love, Alice.
